These monthly small and medium business tax updates are written by Vincent Licciardi, Partner, HWL Ebsworth Lawyers. The updates focus on key tax changes and current tax issues affecting SME business owners.
Vincent is a tax lawyer for large family businesses and high net worth individuals. He specialises in:
- running reviews, objections and litigation against the Australian Tax Office. Vincent worked for the ATO for around 15 years giving his clients the edge and setting him apart from all other tax lawyers; and
- structuring buy-side and sell-side business and investment deals. Vincent’s primary focus is on deals with values between $50 million and $500 million, including internal restructures. He also advises on smaller deals valued at above $5 million.
Vincent also runs investigations and disciplinary proceedings for accountants against the Tax Practitioners Board and the various professional bodies.
Whilst Vincent works predominantly with large businesses, he also accepts referrals from accountants and tax agents on specific tax issues applying to their SME clients (e.g. advice on restructuring/CGT small business concessions and Division 7A audits).
You can access Vincent's tax hub for HNWI advisors which includes webinars on ATO audits, trust resolutions and CGT rollovers. You can also access Vincent's top 10 tips for those under investigation by the TPB.
